What is Stage 1 Remap?
Stage 1 re-calibrates the ECU software — boost, fuelling and ignition maps — within the factory hardware's safe tolerances. No hardware changes are required.
When is it needed?
- Poor throttle response and weak pull at low revs
- Struggles when overtaking or climbing on the motorway
- Noticeable power loss when loaded (passengers, luggage, trailer)

Stage 1 suitability and result checks
Stage 1 assesses ECU calibration with the existing hardware. It does not replace mechanical diagnosis or mean that one file fits every engine.
Engine and transmission differences
Turbocharged and naturally aspirated engines do not offer identical changes. Fuel quality, intake, cooling and transmission torque limits matter. A stronger factory variant does not prove identical hardware.
Information needed for an assessment
Provide model, year, factory output, engine, transmission and ECU identification where available. Declare previous hardware or software changes. Warning lights, smoke, rough running or power loss require diagnosis first.
Verify the completed application
Retain the original file, applied version and job record. Check fault memory and relevant live data. A power claim needs a stated measurement method and comparable conditions, rather than a catalogue number alone.
