How to order tractor and machinery ECU files
This guide is for workshops and tuners who want to buy ECU files for tractors and construction machines. It covers how the ECU is read, what to send with the file and how master and slave accounts work on the ECU Prime platform.
Short answer: read the ECU and keep the original, open an account on ECU Prime, upload the read with the machine details and the solution you need, then write the delivered file and test the machine.
1. Identify the machine and ECU
Note the make, model, engine and, if possible, the ECU hardware and software numbers from the label or a diagnostic scan. The same tractor model can use different ECUs by year, so this saves time.
2. Read the ECU: OBD, bench or boot
- OBD: read through the diagnostic socket, without removing the ECU, when the variant supports it.
- Bench: the ECU is removed and read on the bench through its connector.
- Boot: the ECU is opened and read through boot mode, used for protected variants.
- Always save the full original read and keep a backup before writing anything.
3. Choose your account: master or slave
A master account is for workshops with their own unlocked tools; they upload reads and download files directly. A slave account works through tools linked to a master, which suits new workshops or teams with several sites. Both are opened on the ECU Prime platform.
4. Upload and describe the job
Upload the original read with the machine details and the solution you need, such as a performance file, a fault solution or an original file restore. Add any fault codes or symptoms; it helps us check the file before work starts.
5. Write, test and get support
Write the delivered file, clear fault codes and test the machine under real load. If anything needs a change, reply on the same file; support continues after delivery.
No tools of your own?
Machine owners and fleets without tools can send the machine details on WhatsApp. Where the project needs it, we arrange on-site service in their country, and we also offer training and OEM or aftermarket diagnostic and ECU tools for workshops.
